Missy Bateson is a fine gardener and horticultural consultant based in the Hudson Valley, serving clients throughout New York City, Upstate New York, and Connecticut. With more than 20 years of experience in high-end residential landscapes, she brings a refined, hands-on approach to garden care, restoration, and design.
Missy began her career in Manhattan and Brooklyn, designing and managing luxury rooftop gardens with custom planters and carefully curated plant palettes. She holds a BFA in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute, and her background in art and design continues to inform her work in the landscape.
Her current work focuses on restoring and managing established gardens, offering services including seasonal planting, transplanting, fine garden maintenance, consultations, and personalized coaching. Every project is approached with the client’s goals, site conditions, and long-term health of the garden in mind.
Raised on her family’s produce farm and flower nursery in Connecticut, Missy combines deep horticultural roots with a modern, thoughtful approach. She is a member of the American Horticultural Society and is committed to cultivating beautiful, resilient gardens that grow more compelling over time.
